The Gola del Furlo National Reserve is rich of landscapes and natural heritage, presenting a unique environmental characteristics. Places not to miss are The Regional Natural Park of Sasso Simone and Simoncello, Mount Catria and Mount Nerone.

Sasso Simone and Simoncello Regional Natural parks, situated in the heart of Montefeltro is a large forest of over 800 hectars.

Mount Catria, sited in Dante’s Divine Comedy, stands 1701 meters and represents the highest top of the northern sector of the Appennine mountain chain. Its is know for its prairies, pastures, forests, rivers, gorges and cliffs. Located in Frontone, at less than 30 km from Il Borghetto al Poggio, it offers numerous sports in every season.

Mount Nerone has always inspired with its wild beauty snow lovers and hikers. To be noted the numerous caves such as dell’orso and della Tassare , great for climbing and geopaleontological itineraries
 

Natural Pools

There are several natural pools where to sun bath, dive and swim not far from the center of Cagli, such as Burano and Bosso torrents.

Getting to Burano
After arriving at Cagli, take the highway following indications for Cantiano. Turn at the first exit after Cagli , near Foci and you will see a sign “le Foci” . This is one of the most beautiful places for swimming in a natural pool and diving from large rock plateau.
Getting to Bosso
This Apenine torrent with its emerald clear water sources between Pianello and Cagli. The best place to swim is called “ Tre Pozzi “ ( Three Wells ) where it is possible to bathe between two large rocks in a sort of canyon full of water. You can reach Tre Pozzi following SP28 from Cagli towards Pianello. Before Secchiano you will see numerous cars packed along the road and you’ll know you have reached final destination ! Near here you will also find an ancient Roman bridge.
